November and December have been busy months here at Stuard Elementary. As always, we truly enjoyed supporting the Aledo ISD Food Drive, bringing in 1,872 items this year. Then, we rang in the Thanksgiving holiday with our annual Pies For Teachers event. The Huxel family generously supplied the pies this year for every staff member on November 17th! On December 4th, the students and staff were blessed with a special visit from Texas Rangers Cody Bradford! The kids were in awe of the fact that Cody got his start right here at Stuard in the same hallways that they walk everyday, and with some of the same teachers too! This is a year of firsts, no doubt, and our 1st Annual Winter Wonderland on December 7th was a HUGE success. The event featured photos with a live reindeer, a visit with Santa, and tons of activities, crafts, and games for the whole family. We've enjoyed record-breaking support from our PTO members this year to make such large-scale events happen and could not be more thankful for every single one of them. We hosted upwards of 800 people at our Winter Wonderland and look forward to continuing this tradition at Stuard. In addition, we were able to host a week-long Staff Secret Santa to continue to shower some Christmas spirit on our hard-working teachers before the holiday break! Now, with Winter Break behind us, we are gearing up for Family STEM Night on January 18th and our Winter Supply Drive!
