What is a PTO?

PTO stands for Parent-Teacher Organization, consisting of parents, teachers, and community members working together to support and enrich all students.  We support all school staff and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and fundraising.

What is the Aledo PTO and who can be a Member?

The Aledo PTO is a district-wide organization supporting the staff and students of the Aledo ISD and supplementing the needs of each school within the boundaries of the Aledo ISD.  It is made up of five executive officers, campus representatives, committee chairs, Aledo ISD staff, parents, grandparents, and more!  So, who can be a member?  Anyone who believes and supports the purpose of the organization as noted above.

Aledo PTO Programs & Fundraising

The Aledo PTO implements several programs across Aledo ISD which include food drive, fundraising, hospitality, scholarships, school supplies, and staff appreciation.  To implement these programs and to help supplement the needs of each school within the boundaries of the Aledo ISD, we must fundraise.  Though it may not be our favorite responsibility, it is a necessary one.

Our fundraisers typically include Big Kahuna sales in elementary schools.  Monies raised from these fundraisers are donated to Aledo ISD directly and/or allocated to the needs identified by Campus Principals and its PTO members. Last year, we presented the district with a check for $127,500, thanks to the generosity of our Bearcat Community!

Throughout the year, there are school-sponsored events that benefit a specific campus which include tattoo sales, book fairs, fall festivals, and more.  The Aledo PTO works with the campus Principal to provide assistance with these planned activities but does not have the authority to decide what activities in which students will participate. PTO will usually provide the volunteer support to help make these events successful for that campus.

Become a Member….Why YOU should get involved!

The Aledo PTO is an organization of volunteers.  We are community members working together toward a common goal.  That goal, simply stated, is creating better educational experiences for our children.  In supporting all staff of Aledo ISD, we are creating an atmosphere where teachers, administrators, and support staff can do their best work – and so can our children.  There is so much that can be done, and we need your help!
